I was honored to instruct at the Outpost on Black Creek as they hosted a model shoot out and off lighting workshop that was an absolute blast! The class had the opportunity to photograph some stunning models and fantastic custom choppers, all while learning some new skills and techniques for off-camera lighting.
The location was perfect for this type of shoot, with the rugged industrial setting providing a gritty and edgy backdrop for our photographs. The motorcycles were certainly a highlight of the shoot. With their slick designs and chromed-out accents, they added an extra layer of coolness to the photos.
The models were equally as impressive. They were all professional and experienced, making our job as photographers quite easy. With their stunning looks and poise in front of the camera, we were able to capture some truly breathtaking images. Of course, having such a great setting certainly didn't hurt either!
Throughout the day, I showed the class valuable tips and advice on how to use off-camera lighting to get the results we were looking for. We learned about different types of lighting equipment, how to use reflectors to bounce light, and how to properly position our lights to achieve the desired effect.
However, as much as we were there to learn, we also had a lot of fun. The entire day felt like an adventure. We were pushed out of our comfort zones and it was exhilarating to try new things and experiment with our photography skills. I loved capturing some uniquely lit images with the color gels with golden ambient light on the inside of the restaurant.
Overall, it was an incredible experience. Every aspect of the shoot was top-notch, from the setting to the models to the instructors. It was inspiring to be surrounded by so many passionate individuals who all shared a love for photography. We definitely left the shootout feeling inspired and motivated to take our photography to the next level.
