Baby on Board! Capturing the Joy of a Baby Announcement as I claim my roots as a Michigan Photographer
Hello everyone! Melonie here, and I'm absolutely thrilled to share a recent experience that filled my heart with joy! As a photographer with over 25 years in the industry, I cherish the opportunity to document the most precious moments in people's lives, and I'm especially grateful when I get to do it year after year with the same wonderful families. My recent trip back to my home state of Michigan was no exception and I am already looking forward to my upcoming trip (RSVP now to save a session)!

I've had the distinct pleasure of photographing Emily and Ashton's engagement, their wedding in the Thumb of Michigan, and now...the exciting news of a baby on the way! I was so excited when they reached out to me again, asking if I could capture their baby announcement. And of course, I jumped at the chance!
The announcement session took place at Emily's grandfather's beautiful farm in Michigan. The setting was idyllic, with rolling fields and rustic charm – the perfect backdrop for some heartwarming photos. The anticipation was in the air, and the love between Emily, Ashton, and their furry family member, Wilson, was palpable.
We spent a delightful afternoon capturing the excitement of this new chapter. While Wilson wasn't with us in person, he was definitely present in spirit! We made sure to include him in a special way by photographing a custom t-shirt announcing his big brother status. The photos perfectly capture the joy and love they have for each other and the little one on the way, and of course, Wilson's excitement to be a big brother (or sister!).
I love the opportunity to tell a story through my photographs, and this session was no exception. From the sweet smiles to the tender glances, every moment was a testament to the love this family shares.
It's moments like these that make my job so incredibly rewarding. To be welcomed into people's lives during such significant milestones is a true honor. I cherish the relationships I've built over the years and am so grateful for the opportunity to witness and document these beautiful chapters.
Baby "R" is due in November, and I'm already counting down the days until I return to Michigan for the newborn photos! And with Emily's sister recently engaged, I'm looking forward to many more years of creating memories with this amazing family.
